Who was more feisty than Barbara Bush? Laura Bush always spoke her mind, but Michelle Obama takes the heat for being an independent-thinking woman. It’s so clearly based on race and backward ways of thinking
In over 200 years, the National Mall has become a unique national treasure … where history is remembered and where history is made
Speaking of no frills flying, Hayley and I were joined by a special guest on our flight from Dallas to Austin this morning. None other than Mrs. Laura Bush. So refreshing to see her not abusing the power she and the former president have. Pretty cool!
After so many decades, we need to do more than sprinkle some seed or put down some new sod ... Our capital and our country are worth us maintaining this beautiful gathering place and making it a place that will educate and unite Americans through the 21st century and beyond.
Can you imagine how the incident would play out if an African-American congressman made a crude remark about First Lady Laura Bush's body?
beautiful gathering place ... vibrant legacy for our grandchildren and our great grandchildren.
Well, you know, I don't know Laura Bush. But she seems to be calm, and she has a sparkle in her eye, which is good. But I don't know that she's ever had a real job — I mean, since she's been grown up.

Laura Bush has been a tireless champion for national education programs ... Her passion and commitment to improving the lives of others will provide an inspiring message for our graduates as they begin their journey toward a life of both success and significance.
Women take care of all the people in their family--their children, their husbands--but they sometimes don't take care of themselves ... The goals of this campaign are just to really make sure that women know that heart disease is their No. 1 killer and that they can change their lifestyles to prevent it...
She didn’t emulate someone like Michelle Obama or Rosalyn Carter or even Laura Bush ... She’s certainly an asset, but a small asset because people don’t vote for prospective first ladies, they vote for the candidate.
The whole goal of it is that they will all be equipped to be leaders
The comment, which drew applause from the audience of about 300, came about midway through an hour-long discussion with daughter-in-law and fellow former first lady Laura Bush.
You could make a running jump to the one antique bed that was so tall that it required steps ... Barbara and Jenna could run and jump on it at that age and when the Obama’s took the tour they showed Sasha and Malea all the tricks.

We owned one of the five copies of the Gettysburg Address written in Lincoln's hand, and that was in the room ... Our guests who would come stay in the Lincoln bedroom would look at that ... and read it and weep. That was very very moving to see.
