I have had a long relation with Australians. Tony Roche and Bob Carmichael have coached me and the first time I did well was in Melbourne way back in 1990 when I made it to the junior (Australian Open) final. Sport should be one of those vehicles to bridge good ties between countries
We have a great doubles team in Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes while Somdev has come a long way. It is going to be tough playing in sub-zero temperatures in Russia but we always play better than expectations while representing the country in the Davis Cup
When you win, people think you have done something special. But my routine hasn't changed. I do yoga, I meditate and I'm into martial arts. The real focus ahead of big events is the mental preparation
If India has to win gold in the forthcoming Commonwealth Games in Delhi, then Leander Paes and I have to pair up
I would love to win five or six more grand slams. I would love to take part in my sixth Olympics
We are making all efforts to confirm the entries of Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi with their respective partners
I have got several offers to act in films in the last decade but turned them down... I’ve been approached once again, but nothing’s been finalized yet
There's a lot of goodwill for sportsmen and many people approach us to be part of projects which, at times, are bizarre. As far as movies are concerned, who doesn't want to be a star? Over the last 14 years I have had several film offers. But right now, tennis is the priority and I have no concrete offe...
Things are in a preliminary stage. He will take a final decision after weighing the pros and cons and seeing the scope.
Earlier, I’d have 10 shots planned in my head, now I keep it simpler. It took a long time to devise a method to win. Now, I have the formula
Honestly, I am winning for I have reached a stage where I just don’t have to prove anything any more. That allows me to have fun out there without any pressure. The best tennis happens when one plays without the pressure of always having to win
I’m a student of life; I’m a student of tennis. It keeps teaching me about getting better. If Roger Federer can keep improving, I think all of us can still improve, as well

It’s a team sport ... Sometimes your partner won’t play well. I tried to boost her confidence...simplify the game. It happens in team sport...sometimes one partner plays well, sometimes another. The team has to play well at the end of the day.
I firmly believe that sport can build bridges, mend relationships. I hope my victory goes some way in ensuring a better understanding
On the backdrop of the recent attacks against Indians in Australia...I’d like to reach out to my countrymen here and dedicate this Australian Open title towards the betterment of the relationship between these two great nations.
That's what won it for us today, is that our individual play, our instincts are very well matched well together.
I think that just our expertise and the way we play doubles, the way we cover the right shots at the right time, and the fact we keep bringing it to our opponents (won it for us)
I want to thank fans in India [ Images ] and those who came here to support us. Tennis is our bread and butter but most important is that you make relations. Cara, I am blessed to have you as my partner. Thanks for supporting me
Our instincts are well suited together
It's a privilege to get practice time with Cara ... Playing on the court as a match, we do it quite often, but practice is a privilege. We actually enjoy warming up together. We give each other good rhythm.
It got tough out there. At one moment we were cruising at 5-2 in the first with two breaks in the bag and soon enough we were a set and 0-3 down in the second! I just could not believe it as it was very similar to what happened in the Wimbledon final this year (Paes and Black blew away a 5-2 lead to cav...
