You can't make a comparison with the Everton-Liverpool derbies or the north London matches I played in for Spurs against Arsenal where you have two teams from the same city and a split crowd... you were playing in front of 120,000 people and there were no away fans.
Usually for me the worst come down after a night like that. Being a Liverpool fan I've not had THAT many disastrous nights, so have to take it on the chin and let the other minnows have their day-like every dog. Full Article at Square Football

I think because we have done well in recent seasons other people outside the club tend to take it a little bit for granted that Liverpool will get into the knockout stages ... But it isn't easy. Manchester United didn't make it through a few years ago and Barcelona have had a couple of setbacks this sea...

Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea will be involved in an unprecedented scramble to sign 16-year-old striker Connor Wickham from Ipswich in January. Wickham, the youngest first-team player in Ipswich's history, is regarded in the game as the most exciting young Englishman to emerge since ...
The recurring absence of first-choice Fernando Torres has convinced Benitez that he needs more firepower and he hopes to convince the Liverpool board to finance the deal with the club in a fraught battle for fourth place... Eduardo will seek talks with Wenger to see if he features in his long-term plans...
Liverpool are ready to poach Eduardo from rivals Arsenal in a £10million deal. The 26-year-old Croatian forward is unhappy that he has still to be offered improved terms at the Emirates. His contract has just over 18 months to run and that has alerted Rafa Benitez, who desperately needs to strengthen hi...
It's a bit special to visit Manchester United since I am a Liverpool supporter. But I felt it was a good chance.
If we could get through, I would like an away tie against any of the big clubs—Manchester United or Liverpool—but especially Liverpool. My family support Everton but I supported Liverpool when I was younger because I was there for so many years as a schoolboy. I've played there in reserves and youth gam...

That family aura isn't just a gimmick either. The pressure on managers has never been greater, and I'm not just talking about the Premier League, where Liverpool's troubles continue and Manchester City attract criticism when they fail to win – even if they come away with a draw.
People expect more from me and it's not easy. But they are also not doing what they said they were going to ... I know it would be better if I scored more goals. I can have a spectacular game but nobody guarantees me I will be starting the next match. It shatters your confidence. I did not play the impo...
Skilful and quick winger Sterling has been kept under wraps by Rangers but a gang of scouts - headed by Manchester United and Liverpool - saw him dazzle again for their under-18 side at the weekend.
If that had been Liverpool fans or Manchester United supporters. or any English fans come to that, there would have been a huge outcry.
We lost the title last season because we didn't win our games against our main rivals and we drew too many times at home. So, I'm delighted, we've got the victories against Liverpool and Manchester United this time and also won all of our games at Stamford Bridge
We had the excitement and pressure of beating Liverpool and the grave disappointment in Rome. Wigan are a good team and we were 1-0 down early, the team has shown a lot of character and a lot of determination and we have to be happy with a draw.

It's important to get results against the big teams, and we have now won against Liverpool and Manchester United. But we have also lost against Wigan and Aston Villa and have to maintain concentration against other teams
Chelsea did what we had to do ... We beat a very good team, the best opponent, but we know the season is very long and we have to maintain this. It’s very important that we won against Liverpool and Manchester United, but we have to remember we lost against Wigan and Aston Villa. That means that every g...
Manuel Almunia has been told by Arsene Wenger that he will remain Arsenal’s No 1 goalkeeper. But as the Spaniard prepares to face Wolves today he may be interested in the rave review Wenger has given fellow Frenchman Hugo Lloris, the 22-year-old Lyon keeper who starred in the Champions League midweek fr...
Rafael Benítez could start Fernando Torres against Birmingham City on Monday even though the Liverpool striker is understood to have been told by a specialist in Spain that he needs to rest for three weeks to clear up a groin problem.
For me, above everything, I want to win the Premier League, to go through 38 games and beat all these tough teams ... When you win the Premier League you're a great team. It's so hard to win the league now because there are so many good teams – Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Tot...
Chelsea have lost two games, Manchester United have lost two and Liverpool have lost some games ... We have dropped points ourselves, but the pleasing thing is that we are in the top four because we have lost the fewest games.
It’s not just between us and United, I think Arsenal have good possibilities to arrive in first place ... We can’t think about Liverpool because they are behind, but Arsenal have a very good team and a very good chance to win.
It’s a difficult situation ... They have had injuries, they’ve had some bizarre moments like the one at Sunderland [when Darren Bent’s winning goal bounced in off a stray beach ball]. Liverpool will always be in my mind. I keep in contact with my former team-mates, I look for their results and, whenever...

United won most of the trophies in the 1990s and for me, as an Everton fan, it was a chance to have a go back at the Liverpool fans.
two more Premier League clubs bowed to Poppy pressure yesterday… That leaves only three in the Premier League — Manchester United, Liverpool and Bolton who will play at the weekend without a poppy on their shirts in stubborn defiance of public opinion.
