Hopefully by me coming out and voicing my opinion, at least Tennis Australia is going to be put on notice and people are actually going to be looking at the results that we have over the next year
I was certainly encouraged by all the support I had from people like Lleyton Hewitt and JA [John Alexander] and Jason Stoltenberg, who believe there are real issues that need to be addressed. I think it helped stir some people who believe we desperately need to regenerate the sport.
The current administration appear excellent at 'talking things up', wanting complete total control of tennis in Australia, but the loser at the moment is the game of tennis
Saturday we hit the jackpot: Roger Federer vs. Lleyton Hewitt, then (Maria) Sharapova vs. (Melanie) Oudin, then (Andy) Roddick vs. (John) Isner all in one day. It was the best session of the tournament.
At Wimbledon this year I played exceptional tennis
It’s great to get a convincing win in the quarter-final stage, those matches are never easy ... I’m happy to be back in the semis here in Japan again.
