Baseball has been very, very good to the Dominican Republic. Or maybe we should say that the Dominican Republic has been very, very good to U.S. baseball, producing some of the country's best professional players, including the current darling of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Manny Ramirez, Vladimir Guerrero of the Los Angeles Angels as well as Albert Pujols of the St. Louis Cardinals.

so when pitcher Jonathan Papelbon came to the mound to pitch to first baseman Mark Teixeira, I (centerfielder Jacoby McCabe Ellsbury) was confident that we the Boston Red Sox were going to win Game 1 of the ALDS against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim of Orange County of California.
There are four clear-cut favorites to win it all - the Los Angeles Angels, Tampa Bay, Boston, and the Chicago Cubs.
What Teixeira has done, according to Angels hitting coach Mickey Hatcher, is change the culture of hitting in Los Angeles. He's taught teammates to be more patient, to take walks if the perfect pitch to hit isn't there. He definitely adds a lot to our lineup with that on-base percentage; a guy that works the count ... It's good for some of my players to watch that. He's brought that into our lineup. Ever since we got him he's had a lot of big hits for us. He gets on base to help us create more runs. He plays unbelievable defense, and I think that makes our pitching staff that more confident. He's just fun to watch.
The stage, or the size of the game, he doesn't shrink from that ... I think he looks forward to the challenge. He has pitched in some unbelievable games — not just in the postseason. But when you get to the postseason, he has been some kind of pitcher.
He loves that pressure situation ... When you have a 2-0 lead on the board and Josh Beckett on the mound, it's a great feeling. He's one of my favorites to watch. What we need to do is jump on them early. In baseball terms, we have to jump on their throats and not give them any momentum.
We wanted to work him back in the lineup ... He'll play five innings (Sunday) and most likely DH.
I feel so happy and so proud the way things have been going ... Saving 60 games is good, but I've got to keep going.
