Given that baseball managers have less of an impact on the game than perhaps any other professional sport, one of their most important functions is handling team adversity. (I voted for) Joe Torre (who) handled adversity with the steroid controversy surrounding Manny Ramirez.
The Giants obviously watched only one game last year. Bay seems like more of a fit. The Sox have been rumored to have offered something in the neighborhood of 4 yrs/60M. Maybe the Giants can come it at 5 yrs/75M. Full Article at Sports Blogs
