We've seen this kind of comeback story played out before in Pittsburgh to rave reviews. On Dec. 27, 2000, Mario Lemieux returned after a 3 1/2 year absence and scored against the Maple Leafs, notching a three-point night.
If you go back to, look at some of these kids, some of their birth years, you can go back to the early ’90s, to when Mario Lemieux and the Penguins were so good ... Really all through the ’90s, when they were really good. I think a lot has to do with it.
