I would start by saying congratulations to Illinois State ... They certainly played well and deserved to win the football game as you saw. I'm proud of our team for never quitting. They fought to the end.
The mood of our football team is excellent. Last week they were very focused and determined to play to the best of their abilities. We talked about having a good start and playing hard for all four quarters, and I thought we did that against Missouri State ... Did we play very smart? Not on every snap, ...
Wil had at least a couple of passes that were dropped that were put right on the money ... I thought he kept his poise very well considering they (Salukis) got to him on a couple sacks. He hung in there. For a freshman in his first real live action, I thought he did a good job overall.
