It was the first Cup for Pat Burns as a coach. He was coaching in the biggest markets you could even imagine and he won his first Stanley Cup with us in New Jersey
I certainly understand why people wanted it, because of our goaltender [Martin Brodeur] and the way he handles the puck
They're the top team in the league right now ... Stanley Cup champions and all that. So definitely it's a big challenge for us to go out there against the top team and see where we're at to some extent. It's a divisional game for us, too, so it's important.
They're a structured team. They've got a dangerous line (with Zach Parise-Dainius Zubrus-Jamie Langenbrunner) and a dangerous goaltender (Martin Brodeur) ... We've got to have an awareness of what they can do.
MB30' is important to Brodeur, as he will be contracted with Sher-Wood through the rest of his playing days, and his contract for commercially licensed equipment and merchandise will run long past his playing days. They just kind of felt the logos represented me and they wanted to use it ... I think it'...
It seems like ever since I was a kid, I wanted to play in the NHL ... My idol is (New Jersey Devils goalie) Martin Brodeur. I know it’s hard. But this is a chance to play with and against very good players. The competition is very tough.
They aren't just great players for Tampa Bay. They're some of the best players around the league
Martin Brodeur’s bid to tie Terry Sawchuk’s career shutout record fell short, but Brodeur was able to hold off a late Rangers attack, including a key save on Sean Avery, to give the Devils a victory.
It's kind of hard to raise an eyebrow when you saw what Roberto Luongo signed ... It's all deserved.
Yeah, my favorite jersey number is No. 30 because that's Martin Brodeur who broke the record for wins in a career against the Chicago Blackhawks last season and needs just two more shutouts to tie the NHL record
I was kind of surprised he wanted to come back this year ... He helped us out a lot last year. This is disappointing for us. It was a nice goal he scored on his last shift of his stint here. He looked pretty good. Now I'm the oldest guy. When Jimmy Dowd came in, that helped me out a little bit. I was th...
I'll get a chance to learn from one of the best goalies to ever play the game ... You can put him up there with Martin Brodeur and Patrick Roy. I'm just going to be a big sponge and soak it in. You can ask him just about everything and he'll have an answer for it.
It was pretty depressing ... It was like, this is my life. This is what you live for. You know, growing up in Canada, hockey is your life. And if you don't get to play it, it's a pretty sad day.
It's been great ... I think everybody is amazed at how much he teaches and communicate in a short period of time. We had no choice in the change. The coach (Brent Sutter) left us. We probably got the best teacher in hockey.
