You look back at the Ohio State game and how much (credit) I got for that when Joe (McKnight) made all the plays and I only made a couple passes
Matt Barkley is really stepping up. I was impressed with how poised he is for how young he is. ... With his growth then you couple that with their ability to run the ball.
We got out of our groove ... We weren't controlling the ball the second half and we made it harder on the defense. It's not extra (motivation) to play well (at Arizona State). Guys were bummed out. But we are looking forward to going back out there and doing what we do.
Their offense is appearing to be more balanced each week ... Matt Barkley is really stepping up. I was impressed with how poised he is for how young he is. ... With his growth then you couple that with their ability to run the ball.
Nothing will top Ohio State
If not Texas, maybe Southern California. Yes, genius, I know. USC lost to Washington. But the Trojans lost that game without their most important player, quarterback Matt Barkley, and he’s back. If the goal of the BCS is to place the best two teams in the title game, well, USC with Matt Barkley deserves...
Me in Oregon’s offense? No ... I like the pro-style system. That’s not me.
Matt Barkley is really something ... The plays he's capable of making, there's no limit for him. He's just remarkable -- there's no other way to describe it. There's no one else to compare him to in our history. He's so poised, so comfortable in the arena. He has this great inner strength.
It's slowed down a lot ... Maybe not drastically, but since the San Jose State game, I realized how cool it can be.
Exceptional play from the quarterback. Matt Barkley is really something
We think we’re the best team in the Pac-10 ... We don’t worry about anybody else.
When I was with the Jets, Ken O'Brien got sat down by the owner, who ordered the coach (Bruce Corp's demise rejuvenated junior quarterback Mitch Mustain, who was thrilled to become Matt Barkley's backup. It is a huge boost in position and morale ... When you are third, it's rare for two quarterbacks to ...
That crowd definitely won't be as loud as Ohio State, which will be nice ... But I'm ready to play in any environment.
I think I was behind Matt Barkley, or me and a couple other starters were in front of him or behind him
I think adrenaline will help a lot, like in the Ohio State game
I don't get really nervous, and at the same time I'm not going to get super-pumped up ... I probably don't know what I'm in for, but I'm not going to worry about that. I've got my offense, and we could move in Alaska, playing in the snow.
To tell you the truth, I think the jump from Junior All-American (youth) football to Southern California Division I (high school) football was a little bigger
We can play in Alaska in the snow, that's how confident I am in this Unlike in high school, Barkley did not actually complete a pass from the pocket until he connected with wide receiver Damian Williams on a 17-yard play with barely a minute left in the first half. Gone were any deep balls daring throws...
