There was a realization at the time before I had my call, before I knew I had a suspension, that the only way to guarantee success was to change the approach from the start. When it comes to the game, it's actually been pretty easy because I put a lot of time and effort into it last year
Yeah, I mean, you can look back at the whole Matt Cooke thing ... The next game, he stood up and fought Shawn Thornton, and it was over and done with. I expect sort of the same thing. If it ends up being a brawl, well, then it ends up being a brawl.
I think you need to keep it there somewhere as a reminder to make sure I keep my understanding of what I need to do and how I need to play ... I don't think about it often, but I think it’s always there. I wasn't going to make the NHL being a power-play guy. I had to bring something else. That's the way...
That’s a line that he’s played a lot with and has the most experience with on our team ... We’ll start that way with Sidney. We’ll leave James Neal with Evgeni Malkin, and Jordan Staal with Matt Cooke and Tyler Kennedy.

It's Sidney Crosby. The guy loves the stage and he loves to play. He's one of the biggest competitors. Not just in hockey, but in everything he does. It's proof of that tonight.
He's Sidney Crosby. Nothing surprises me from him anymore. He loves the stage
It showed he was as strong mentally as he is physically
You saw it, man ... You saw in relative quick fashion the potential of this hockey club.
As teammates, that’s what we wanted for him, to come out and feel like he could be at his best
I think you can’t put into words what it means
I think if you play him too light he’s going to burn you and score a goal ... So they need to play him like they would anywhere else. Dirty hits and that kind of stuff, that’s something the league will take care of and we’ll manage on the ice by ourselves. Everything else, bring the physical on him, he ...
We know how badly he wants to play
You see him out there in practice every day
We feel like we've let some games slip away and we haven't been at our best for 60 minutes for very many games, but we're sitting in a good spot ... You're never satisfied, but we're pretty pleased with where we're at.
They signed some good players and made the deals they thought they needed to to make themselves successful ... They're young, they're fast and they're a good team.
If anything, it’s been hard on him ... I’m sure if it was right, he would have played two weeks ago. Our focus is we want him to be 100 percent healthy. Until that date, we have to go about our business and prepare to be as successful as we can be.
