It's a famously international and independent school, right in the middle of Covent Garden and it offers a brilliant two-year program. I was a student there in the '60s and I taught there in the '70s ... I've been the chair since 2000. People like Michael Mann went there. There are alumnae all over the world. I still teach as well.
I saw this and thought of you ... It's about a new Michael Mann movie that's coming out soon.
City of Angels specialists such as Michael Mann, Quentin Tarantino, Robert Altman and Paul Thomas Anderson
When Sam Fuller said that 'Film is a battleground, love, hate, violence, action, death--in a word, emotion,' he must've been thinking about Michael Mann ... With every movie, he goes into battle. I'm sure you've heard all the legendary stories about the fallout and casualties. But that's the only way Michael knows how to make movies. And we're willing to take the bet that out of that commitment and passion will come a great movie.
Felon jacked me up, and going into Public Enemies after that, it was an intense five-month movie with [director] Michael Mann. I feel like I’m doing some of the best stuff I’ve done now
I'm an alcoholic superhero ... It's so bizarre. Michael Mann developed a script about an alcoholic superhero, which was just so great to me because it was so different.
I've met with Michael Mann and talked about this ... I've not met with DeNiro, but he is one of our greatest actors. You always have to acknowledge they are two different mediums, and you're not going to get a direct quote of your book onto the screen, nor should you. But I feel I'm in pretty good hands with those two guys. I'm excited about it.
