Until told otherwise, yeah, I do ... I'm not out here playing to come off the bench. I'm planning to start. But if that's where [Mike D'Antoni] sees me playing, that's what happens. But as of now, I'm not playing to come off the bench.
We are never going to be a run-and-gun basketball team unless you bring (Knicks coach Mike) D'Antoni or somebody like that in here ... We are never going to be that. That's not who we are. But we do have some young guys who can play that way and we can use that. We are going to be able to do both and do them very well.
You know what? ... Guys wanted this. Guys, I think, got to a point where they wanted to play defense, we wanted to get better in that area. So the time was right for a coach to come in and try to make change.
I get a little down, because the first thing out of everybody's mouth is, 'They don't play defense,' ... First of all, we won (55) games last year, (61 the year before). Sixty-(one) times, we played better defense than the other team did, that's for sure, because we scored more points.
He'll make it better than I think most coaches would right now ... But with the right players, I know this guy will deliver.
