I am shocked and appalled that anyone would think this is appropriate, as it clearly does not move us in the right direction. In an interview with CNN, Saltsman, who also served as presidential campaign manager for Mike Huckabee, defended his actions. I think most people recognize political satire when they set it ... I think RNC members understand that. 
definitely another ‘Sister Souljah moment’….It is unlikely that Obama will lose those who vehemently disagree ... I doubt that Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney, or Mike Huckabee are counting on a mass migration of the pro-same-sex-marriage or abortion rights crowds to their respective ranks.
By naming her he was able to put her in a position where she didn’t have to go through the bruising process of the primaries. Many of us had been out there for 15 months ... She walks into the hot spotlight and she’s a blank slate nobody knows so Republicans are fired up.
What John McCain did for her was to give her the capacity to sort of leapfrog over the process and get right to the center stage ... She didn't have to get bloodied like us. Few people on that stage didn't get bloodied.
It was funny that all through the primary—I mean literally up until McCain got enough delegates to win—people said, ‘You know, Huckabee’s really running for Vice-President. Gee, Huckabee would be a great Vice-President.’ And from that day forward, when I actually was no longer running for President, nobody ever said, ‘Gee, Huckabee would be a great Vice-President.’
It wasn’t so much a gender issue, but it was like they suddenly decided that everything they disliked about me was O.K
