PULLMAN, Wash. — Oregon State wasn’t about to trip up here. Stumble, maybe, as the Beavers did in the second quarter when Washington State closed within 21-10. But falter and fall when OSU’s chance to play for a berth in the Rose Bowl was at stake? Full Article at The Register Guard
The Pac-10 can play with anybody ... If you put (the Pac-10) up against the rest of the country … we could have six teams in the top 25. I really think there is that kind of ability within our league. I really have a strong sense of that.

The biggest difference in Arizona is offensive efficiency ... That had been the missing ingredient for them.
It's a great discussion point ... Personally, I love the round robin. I love playing everybody. I've been a Pac-10 gym rat since my dad coached at Oregon State in the '60s. I've always loved playing all the other teams, and I think it's fair. At the same time I think that (it) hurts us. We beat each oth...
I don't think that there's any doubt that he could go to a camp anywhere and fit in physically ... I think his growth and maturity as a quarterback in decision-making has to be intriguing to those (NFL) people as we go through the season.
It'll be another tough Pac-10 game ... They're all going to be like that - very competitive - but it's good to get another win and get the opportunity to build on that and compete with them. (California) is a good team, a good program. It's a great game for this time of the year.

You can never, ever relax in football ... UCLA kept playing, but the only way they could get back in it was make a couple big plays, and they did and boom.
I have to give (UCLA) a lot of credit ... They just kept playing.
Matt Barkley is really stepping up. I was impressed with how poised he is for how young he is. ... With his growth then you couple that with their ability to run the ball.

Oregon is leading right now but in general, from year to year as we’ve seen, the road to try to get (to the Rose Bowl) goes through the Coliseum
It's such a long shot. It's impossible probably ... It's something we explored early and probably would again, but it didn't happen with (former OSU tight end) Joe Newton, so its certainly isn't gonna happen. There's no real good case.
We certainly would like to have more balance and be more versatile in that regard ... We hit some good runs (against Arizona State) but we weren’t consistent.
It feels pretty good ... I thought that was an outstanding job by our team and our coaching staff down at Arizona State. What happens with all that is you’ve got to follow it up with another one, and get some momentum going.
It’s nice to get rid of some of the ghosts of football past at Oregon State ... This was one of them that still remained. For these guys, they were only 0-1 here. They didn’t have to bear the whole burden of that (losing streak). This was just a good win for this 2009 team.
