You guys are into stats, and I understand that, but the bottom line is winning ... I think you've got to take your football team and who you have, and it's not like the NFL, if you don't have something you go try to draft it or trade for it or whatever. Who do you have, what's their maturity level, how much are they ready to win at this level? And then you try to win as a football team. I think we've done a pretty good job of that myself.
Is he willing to forgo a chance to make a run at the Heisman and be an absolute star at Pitt? ... I expected more, and I'm sure he did, too. The longer you are away from the loss and the more you hear from agents and advisors, the easier it is to leave. As for Pitt, you want him back, but it doesn't hurt recruiting to have an NFL first-round draft pick.
I hope he gets an opportunity to continue ... In some respects, Andy has some strengths that are above some people that I've coached at that level, and he has some things he needs to work on. People ask me, 'Would you draft him if you were still in the NFL' Yes, he'd be on my draft board.
Oh that tiff with you and Mel was nothing. You should have seen the blowout in our draft meetings the other day.
Umm... Yeah. Oh, this is kinda awkward now -- I figured you were watching the game. I have Plaxico Burress in fantasy football and I need him to get 20 more yards to win this week. He hasn't had a catch since the first quarter.
Why do I do this to myself? Why do I put myself through this? Sometimes I wonder, man.
In fact, Thursday Night Football, brings us our largest crowds during the regular season. We've had marketing meetings and operational meetings for the sole purpose of Thursday Night Football
The Thursday Night Football phenomenon is one of the most bizarre things I can attempt to explain -- we've seen an extreme spike in Thursday night business, much more so than Monday Night Football, which is available to anybody that has a television and an antenna
As President elect Obama put it on election night -- we're facing certain challenges as a country ... Two wars, a planet in peril, and the worst financial crisis in a century. Notice he didn't cite the unavailability of Thursday NFL games on cable. It's hard to see how NFL games makes the congressional agenda given the challenges we face as a country.
