View Photo »If we played another game, we'd always be able to incorporate the best teams ... So you would at least get the best teams and they would play. How they implement that, if they use the bowl system, I think that would be great. But I am not for extending the system into the next semester. I don't think th...
Hightower has been in a great program for a great coach [Nick Saban], won a couple of national championships, and has been the signal-caller, leader of that defense. I think both players have some versatility and have been good players in their systems. They're both smart. They're high-quality guys. Exc...
I've always been for plus one
No, I had evaluated him. I worked for Nick Saban for three years, so I knew the program that he played in. It was easy to see. Prior to Pro Day, we had hours and hours of work done. (Pro Day) was just a way for me to confirm in my mind that he was going to be our guy.
I feel confident that our leadership in the SEC with Mike Slive and his staff of people ... They probably know more about this than most of us coaches and they would do a really good job of representing and presenting us with some ideas that hopefully we get a chance to have some input in when the time ...
I had evaluated him and had worked for Nick Saban for three years ... it was easy to see him. Prior to going to the Pro Day there were hours and hours of work put in. The Pro Day just confirmed it.
Junior Seau is probably as fine a competitor, and has as much presence, as any player that I have ever been around ... He certainly has showed a tremendous amount of resiliency trying to help this team.
That's short. Kind of an odd-looking frame. He's had one of the strictest, toughest coaches (Nick Saban) for three years and the guy still freelances. He's still a guy that kind of does his own thing. If Saban can't get him to settle down, then what is he going to do in the league when the guy's making ...
I have always been for a plus-one, but I think it’s important to keep the integrity of the bowls because I think they provide a lot of positive self-gratification for the kids in college ... I’d like to see [the playoffs] incorporated into the bowl system some kind of way. Why don’t we play [the semifin...

My opinion is people want to see the best four teams play
What’s different here than Nick Saban’s contract? If they want him out, they’re going to open the door for him, too.
It's critical for us that he continues to develop
An Evening of College Football with Nick Saban
Phillip has been a great representative of our program and did a great job for us in his two years here ... We are sorry to see him leave, but we certainly understand the situation, and everyone here wishes him the best of luck. We’ve talked on numerous occasions about this decision and we just want Phi...
You're going to see this with Alabama kids, overdrafting of some of them, because Nick Saban gets kids NFL ready ... It's almost like individually, they're not as good as they are collectively.
I think that deep down inside -- even though we never really talked about it, never used it as a motivating factor as a team -- every player on the team, every coach on the staff, myself included, in the back of our mind, deep down in our heart, really wanted to accomplish something of significance for ...
They say if you play for Nick Saban, you're going to come out a warrior, and he's the defensive back coach. That's just a pathway into the NFL.
We are sorry to see him leave, but we certainly understand the situation, and everyone here wishes him the best of luck ... We've talked on numerous occasions about this decision, and we just want Phillip to know that we will be here to support him in the future if there is anything we can do to help hi...
It would be hard to pick right now, but I tell you, A.J. McCarron, I spoke at Nick Saban's clinic this year, that A.J. McCarron, he's a vastly improved quarterback
We've talked on numerous occasions about this decision and we just want Phillip to know that we will be here to support him in the future if there is anything we can do to help him and his family
They're so much more well prepared for what the NFL has to offer. Those kids will benefit from their career at Alabama playing for Nick Saban.
I know all these guys from the South don't want to go up North, but I can tell you what: The Cleveland Browns and the people in Cleveland, they've got a spirit like a high school team ... I think that any player appreciates that. I think Trent will love it there.
There really wasn’t anything too creative, other than the coaches just showing up at my school and coming to see me. I think when [Alabama’s Nick Saban] and [Georgia Tech’s Paul Johnson], along with [UGA assistant Bryan McClendon], came to my school and showed me love, I felt like that was the most impo...
The fact that they’re keeping the staff intact and John L. has a lot of very good experience as a head coach and has been successful, I certainly do feel that they’re going to be one of the most difficult teams in our division to play against and probably one of the best teams we’ll play
