Kauai lifeguards (Monday) morning said it had been 40 to 50 feet on the outer reef and caused some serious beach erosion ... I could see waves breaking across the entire length of Waimea Bay (Oahu). That takes a 30 to 40 foot wave to do that.
It's a beautiful place and beautiful grounds, but it's a little too far away from Waikiki and Honolulu and the reason people come to Oahu, right
You don't get out here much, do you? This was an Oahu law - city and county of Honolulu - that the state Legislature has been loath to pass as a statewide law. As a state, we don't lead. We follow, being dragged kicking and screaming.
These projects will both go a long way in relieve to our commuters both here on Oahu and on Maui, and improve, most importantly, their quality of life. But they will also come at a time when our labor force is looking for good news, knowing these projects will boost the efforts by the state in creating ...
So if you have a sick baby ... say it’s a preemie and it’s born at Maui Memorial, the babies just get poor care until the transport team can come from Oahu, pick them up, and bring them back. And, as a result, our babies don’t do as well.
