The comments made by Peter Robinson in the House of Commons are entirely consistent with the party manifesto. Our insistence upon community confidence before the devolution of policing and justice is a long-standing DUP policy.

I thought it was a good speech ... Make any speech in the Northern Ireland Assembly and nobody walks out - it's a bit of triumph.
Peter Robinson said this week that he will not do this policing deal without this party, I must tell him that there will be no support from us for any backroom deal.
I am prepared and can work with anybody who has the same goals, which are to make the Assembly and Executive work for the benefit of Northern Ireland. I was not elected to be a buddy for Martin McGuinness, I was elected to work with him and that is why I am here
