Sad to hear about Randy Carlyle
We’ve talked about moving Bobby and not moving Bobby off of that line ... We still think that that group is going to have to play together for an extended period of time. Because you make a change for one game or two games, there’s nothing etched in stone.
Sad to hear about Randy Carlyle, but our coach is going nowhere.
Mace had a strong start and was a huge complement to our penalty killing ... That play started to slip. We put him in a situation that we thought he could continue to grow into, and we felt that had stopped. We thought it was best for him to watch for a couple games and work hard in practice to get back...
Randy Carlyle met with Bobby Ryan today concerning trade rumors and told him he 'has to find that inner peace in himself to deal with it.'
He has to find that inner peace in himself to deal with it ... When you go through situations in which we’re going through right now, these are the things that do come up.
Fire Bob Murray and/or Randy Carlyle; trade Bobby Ryan, Ryan Getzlaf, and/or Corey Perry; and strip Ryan Getzlaf of his captaincy
We feel like (by) putting Bobby Ryan on any other line he can add an offensive element that we’re lacking at this point ... That’s as simple as you can put it.
We’re trying to stimulate, spark, kick, coddle, pat on the back, whatever you have to do to get your hockey club to play to a higher level ... If it means moving a player off a line, then so be it.
If you play the game and you’re involved in the game, you recognize there’s going to be those types of situations develop when you don’t have success
Being a former player, I was traded a few times and the rumors were rampant when I was playing that there were going to do this or that ... You recognize that those types of situations develop when you don’t have success. That is part of the business. You have to understand that and then you move on.
Winning alleviates and makes everybody feel a little bit better ... One win is not going to be enough. We don’t look at it as one win and it’s all over. We have a mountain to climb here. It doesn’t start until you build a foundation. What we’re trying to do is build a foundation that our hockey club is ...
We felt that Mac has got more to give from a standpoint that he was a very useful player for us last year
I just felt Mac has more to give ... He was a very useful player for us last year and he hasn’t been able to find that same level. He’ll go down and play some big minutes and get an opportunity to get his game back.
I think we just seem to be dead between the ears
We seem to be dead between the ears. We're not thinking ... This is not going to be accepted what's going on right now.
If we had the answer we'd try to correct it ... It's very frustrating and very confusing for everyone involved.
Right now, we're finding way to lose hockey games when we have prime position to win hockey games ... It's very frustrating and confusing for everybody involved.
Players make comments. It’s not up to management or coaches to throw any dirt one way or the other. I’m just glad that the player is healthy and making a contribution. As I stated, he worked extremely hard. He was a good soldier here. I haven’t got any comment on his negative comments.
Cogliano has got a few bumps and bruises
He’s been battling a groin issues for probably the better part of a week to 10 days ... He’s missed a couple of practices. We’re going to have to probably make a decision on whether it’s going to take a little bit different procedure to get him healthy versus resting it in the days between games. We’ve ...
Loops is a young guy that’s always been able to score ... That’s for sure. He suffered through a very, very serious injury here and got himself back healthy again and he’s probably in the best shape of his life. He’s probably worked as hard as anybody to get himself back to playing status.
In the third period...like we froze
In the third period, it was like we froze
