View Photo »They have been doing it all year ... They have been blessed in that they have been able to play all year with only nicks and bruises, nothing serious to keep them out of games. Those guys have been able to step up and stay focused and make plays for us.
Some people are going to look at the list and think Drew Brees is going to win, but Reggie Wayne had an amazing statistical season, and I think he’s the best wide receiver in the NFL
We've been in that situation before
How much have you followed the career of (Indianapolis Colts wide receiver) Reggie Wayne?
It didn't surprise me at all. We'd run it quite a few times. We ran it earlier in the game and Peyton went backside with it, so I think (Porter) kind of had a feeling it was coming because it was the same formation. You've got two weeks to prepare for a team, so they've seen everything we've done.
I love the quarterbacks, the skill players, on both teams ... On paper, New Orleans probably has more skill players. The Colts have the quarterback, tight end (Dallas Clark), the wide receiver (Reggie Wayne). But after that, great role guys. Their system's phenomenal. And Manning's head and shoulders ab...
I'd rather win than lose, but I think once we get this feeling out of the way, we'll be determined to come back and get another shot at it
Reggie Wayne is a good wide receiver, but it starts with Peyton Manning ... He throws the ball where defenders can't reach or find it. I think what makes his guys better is him putting the ball in places that defenders can't find it.
The whole time inside the locker room (at halftime), we were just talking about getting the ball back and scoring and getting some points on the board, kind of putting them in a hole a little bit ... They get the onside and it kind of takes the wind out of our sail a little bit. It definitely caught us ...
Little did we know at the time that the running back was Edgerrin James, the tight end was Bubba Franks and the two receivers were Santana Moss and Reggie Wayne
We've got to bounce back and get another shot at it
It doesn't matter if Tom Matte is the running back ... We're going to play them and we're preparing for Peyton Manning, and we're preparing for Reggie Wayne and all those guys. If somebody else is in that position, so be it.
I don't know man, they had a good scheme, they did a good job using it tonight and they're celebrating
Once he motioned down we knew number one [receiver Reggie Wayne] was going to wide-depart and run to the sticks
That's what they've been thriving on all year, creating turnovers and scoring with it
My knee wasn't bothering me at all
I just wasn't getting the ball like I thought I was going to get it
I'm the one over here with my lip poked out ... Obviously, it was a good call.
That's kind of how they were playing throughout the game
That's long gone ... There's no sense to even living in the past.
The more the merrier. One thing about winning one is that you have to figure out a way to win another. It's kind of like tattoos, it gets a little contagious after a while
My advice to them is just to do, umm, do the things you been doing ... Don't do too much. You've been doin' a great job all year, so just continue to do that, umm, practice your craft, don't do anything different.
They've been doing it all year ... Those guys have been able to step up and stay focused and make plays for us.
We can be just like you guys and think, 'what if?' ... But it is really not an issue here.
This is a business trip, not a vacation
