Ricky Gervais, who is somebody I really like, comedy wise. Sugar Ray Leonard was my sporting idol and my favourite fighter of all time. And I don’t know who my third would be. I suppose I’ll get in trouble if I choose a bird. Okay, Kelly Brooke, because if the conversation wasn’t good there would be som...

Not only is this the biggest Hollywood celebration of the industry, but also an environment where I feel I can get free reign as a host
We never thought a host was necessary. Only when NBC suggested the idea that a host might enhance the show, my response was the only person we would consider for the task would be Ricky Gervais ... And we were lucky to get him.
Not only is this the biggest Hollywood celebration of the industry, which includes both film and TV, but also an environment where I feel I can get free reign as a host ... I have resisted many other offers like this, but there are just some things you don't turn down.
I have a very small part ... but the minute you hear it's Ricky Gervais on the phone, it's just a case of, 'Tell me when and where to show up.' I didn't even really ask him about the script because I knew it would be good.
There are people that I want to work with but I'm too intimidated. There are a few people that I'd be worried about working with - the greats: Jack Nicholson, Scorsese and Clint Eastwood
You have to be really precise. One thing we talk about is: Who's our target? Ricky Gervais has jokes about people with disabilities, but do I think that's a healthy thing? Yes, I really do, because he's chosen his targets very carefully and he's thought about what he's doing.
The thing about the Golden Globes and the Oscars is that they have film stars with their jawlines and chiseled looks ... But in this room, I'm probably above average. Steve Carell is considered handsome [here].
We're just happy to be up here looking more handsome than Ricky Gervais, quite frankly
The thing about the Golden Globes and the Oscars is that they have film stars with their jawlines and chiseled looks ... But in this room, I'm probably above average. Steve Carell is considered handsome [here].
It has one joke, yes -- it takes place in a world of absolute and constant truth where one man figures out that you can, actually, say things that are not true -- but that joke's so well-executed by co-writers and co-directors Matthew Robinson and Ricky Gervais, with Gervais playing our first liar, that...
This is the greatest awards ceremony in the world, there's no doubt about that. Definitely, definitely no doubt about that. The thing about the Oscars and the Golden Globes is they've got film stars there, with their jawlines and chiselled looks, making me feel bad. But in this room - I'm not being funn...
This is Ricky Gervais, who is just one of the funniest people around ... I mean, any time he does something, you have to pay attention because he, himself, is so funny and so brilliant.
The thing about the Golden Globes and the Oscars is that they have film stars with their jaw lines and chiseled looks
