View Photo »It's big, but we can't get complacent ... That gap can close in any given week. We've got to keep doing what we do.
I actually have him going to New England in the latest projection I did from the standpoint of being a 3-4 outside backer ... As a 4-3 defensive end situational guy if Indianapolis looks at him in that rotation with [Dwight] Freeney and Robert Mathis it makes sense. I think his character and every game ...
That's what we're built for ... We went out and did our job. We worked all week on it and we reaped the benefits of the hard work.
You always want to let everyone know that we're here, too ... We play defense in Indianapolis. It was just a good morale victory and we'll take it.
We've got to just try to keep it going
I was proud of him ... He has a lot of heart. To be able to come back from that in two-weeks' time speaks a lot about his character.
Just because they get the ball ... doesn't mean they have to score.
In my second year is when I actually started to incorporate things that I did in practice into the games and was successful at it ... I had to fight for my spot early on in my career, but it's worked out for the best.
My initial plan was to become a [physical education] teacher and pass along whatever football knowledge that I had to the guys back at my old high school
As a child I would always say that I'm going to play in the NFL, but I really didn't think it was going to happen until the actual draft day and I got a call from the Colts ... Other than that, I just kind of thought it was like a pipe dream.
First of all, my name is Robert
You have to pick up the slack, and you have to prepare as if he's not going to play
Coach Dungy would bring it up. Coach Caldwell will bring it up, like, every day ... At the end of every practice, he'll tally up the offsides and false starts, interceptions and dropped passes and little things like that, that will really hurt you in crunch time. That makes you really pay attention to t...
You have a routine, and every day at a certain time, you do this and this and this ... When Sunday comes and you don't have a game to play, you start getting the jitters.
They're saying it, that's how they feel ... It won't affect us, not at all.
They say the quickest way to neutralize speed guys is to run right at them ... We've been dealing with that for years now so, let the best man win.
The more you get an offensive lineman thinking, the more you got that you can do ... He's going to lose. If he short-sets you (takes an inside position), he gives you the corner. So you take the corner first to get him to open up. Now you've got two ways: You take the inside, bull rush.
You've got to have a rush plan. J.T. always says: 'Work your plan. Plan your work,' ... You can't attack every offensive tackle in the league the same way.
A first-year head coach just coming in, he's about the most prepared a guy could ever be. He's on top of everything.
I certainly hope so, because it's our home ... Yeah, it's a faster surface, so we'll try to use that to our advantage.
Normally, myself and Dwight, who are smaller, speed guys, match up better with big, burly guys. So it'll be an interesting matchup
If you have a good game plan, that's making a team do something they don't want to do ... So that's what we've got to make them do. We've got to make Flacco beat us rather than McGahee and Rice.
He's not really a mobile guy; he's a pocket guy ... You've got to get him off his spot a little bit. Normally, myself and Dwight, we're smaller, speedy guys, we match up better with big, burly guys. It will be an interesting matchup.
Coach Caldwell has done a really good job with scheduling, keeping us good and fresh all year ... He's cut back some practices some, he's cut some days shorter. When it's time to go, we go, and when it's time to rest, we rest.
