View Photo »You always want to win, but if we win this, we go to the World Series ... You don’t want to go home, you want to win a championship. Oh man, I’m excited.
Yanks’ lineup will feature a 6-7-8-9 combination tonight of Robinson Cano, Gardner, Jose Molina and A.J. Burnett.
There have always been rumors or talk, that's New York ... Jeter always would come up to me and talk to me and tell me to ignore it. When people said I was lazy, he came up to me and said, ‘I know you're not lazy.' That meant a lot to me.
Bobby saw the throw sail over Robinson Cano and it looked like it was going to miss Jeter too ... What made the play was Teixeira. First baseman are taught to follow the batter around the bases, but he was there for the tag.
I have to be one of the blessed guys in the world ... You look at second basemen in Boston or Kansas City or other teams and they don't have a guy like Jeter next to them or a first baseman as good as Teixeira. A-Rod, he's always talking to me. I look around and I can't believe it.
I'm confident we'll hit ... A lot of infielders had problems on the defensive side, Robinson Cano, Derek Jeter. There were plays that were routine (that weren't made). I'm sure weather influenced some things that happened.
Robinson Cano has 103 RBIs, he could be playing 3rd in most lineups he’s 7th with the Yankees
All of these Yankees own a career average of .300 or better against Minnesota: Mark Teixeira, Alex Rodriguez, Hideki Matsui, Derek Jeter, Johnny Damon, Robinson Cano, Melky Cabrera and Jose Molina
Robinson Cano. If you look at his numbers and he plays every day. He's played good defense at second. So for me, he's the MVP.
