When Roman Polanski invites you to be involved in a project, you don't say, 'No,' ... And the script was extraordinary. I'd seen the play in New York so I was already very much a fan of the piece. I just felt very fortunate to be included.
We do, however, have photographic proof of Tate wearing the ring and written confirmation from Roman Polanski stating that this was, in fact, the engagement ring that he gifted to his then-fiancée, Sharon Tate.
Throughout his career he was interested in psychological torment. . . . And the utter cruelty and sardonic humor that pervades all of these films is, of course, quite relevant to the work of filmmakers like Michael Haneke, Roman Polanski and Stanley Kubrick.
