We are a Minnesota nice group and we like the heck out of the guy
We're just a Minnesota-nice group, and we like the hell out of the guy
All that stuff that's gone on in the past with Carl ... I just know what he has meant to us, and what he has helped us achieve here. We're just a Minnesota-nice group and we like the hell out of the guy, and we can't wait to see him on the mound.
We are just a Minnesota nice group ... and we like the hell out of the guy, and we can't wait to see him on the mound tomorrow night, and hopefully it works out for us.
Once you get out on the field, no one plays with a billfold in their pocket ... It's all baseball players. ... [But] you know what? The Yankees are the most professional team you'll ever see. ... They don't get enough credit for that.
I don’t recommend everybody playing 163 games every year ... I was proud of both teams last night for the way both teams never quit and kept getting after it. I told Jim Leyland after the game that was one of the best games I’ve ever been involved in. Just watching two teams butting heads and going afte...
My pitching coach [Rick Anderson] just informed me we're going TBA for the Game 3 ... I originally thought maybe it would be Carl Pavano for Game 3. But [Anderson] wants to go TBA, and we'll see where we're at. We have Scott Baker or Pavano for Game 3. We'll see who feels the best.

Scott Baker was unbelievable on a big stage
He's got a great arm ... We faced him in Detroit [last Tuesday] in one of the better ballgames we've been involved in all year [a 3-2, 10-inning Twins victory]. He's got great stuff -- great sinker, slider -- he can really pitch, so it ought to be a lot of fun.
I'm not going to get on Major League Baseball ... They've got plenty of my money [in fines].
The nice thing is that you always walked in here knowing we were going to play ... You're going to miss that. When you're outdoors in Minnesota, there is never a guarantee ... And there were a lot of good memories here. The playoff games, and the players that played in here. And there's been an advantag...
We've lost more balls in the roof than any other baseball team, because we played here more, and we had Lew Ford ... We've seen some outfielders go after balls, and we sit in the dugout and go, where are they going? It's almost like they don't see the ball, and they're running so they don't get hit.
I'll never forget Chili Davis telling me I hate getting thrown out, so don't ever get me thrown out at home plate
Hopefully, we'll go and at least do our part ... We can't control it. It's in somebody else's hands — (White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen's). Come on, Ozzie.
We're going to play the next four games, and we'll see where we're at ... We're worried about Detroit now.
