You don't have to be an amazing ball-striker to win on the professional tour. Being consistent week in and week out is the key. It brought home to me the importance of keeping stupid mistakes off my card, like the ones I had in the Desert Classic in Dubai earlier this year (2006), when I had two 72s and...
The idea was that a new generation was here with some of the younger guys coming up, whether it was me, Ryo Ishikawa, Rory McIlroy, Danny Lee -- the new generation coming in
I think the intensity levels this week have been raised a little bit, just because there is so much to play for, especially to be the first person to become the champion of the Race to Dubai
All three are among today's top golfers and will give players such as YE Yang, Rory McIlroy and defending champion Lin Wen Tang a run for their money next month at Fanling.
The intensity levels have been raised because there is so much to play for ... To be the first champion of the Race to Dubai, it would be a great honour to put my name on that trophy.
I said to a couple of guys out there that it almost felt like the last group on a Sunday. Because you are the top two in the Race to Dubai, you sort of watch what the other person is doing
I think it will be good for both of us not to play together. We're both just trying to win the Dubai World Championship and whatever happens after that, then so be it.
Lee Westwood and Darren Clarke have tried playing there and it didn't really work out for them ... They were giving me advice based on their past experiences. They would rather stay in Europe but I want to venture out. Most of the events I will be playing in America will have Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson...

After that final round in Shanghai, I said to myself 'right, you've got the next two weeks to do this, let's get down and do it'
It would be fantastic and that's my aim. I was 11-under for the two rounds at the weekend in Hong Kong so I have good momentum going into the final week.
I am the man to beat, and that's the way I wanted it going to Dubai ... I am in pole position.
I played lovely, really, really well. I thought I needed a low one and went out with the mindset that if I went lower than 65 then I might have a chance but Gregory obviously played very well ... I am a bit disappointed at the moment but I have the consolation of going back to the top of the Race to Dub...

I have had my chances to win after Dubai. I had a chance at the European Open where if I shot 70 on the last day I would have won ... I sort of had a chance in Switzerland where I had two bad holes and I was second in the Alfred Dunhill Links.
Hong Kong is a city I enjoy. I've been there a lot. Not just last year but I've played quite a lot of amateur golf there. I've always enjoyed the city and the golf course
Phil Mickelson actually said to me on the 16th, when I took on the flag for an eventual birdie, that it was a bold shot I played but given there is not a cut this week, I had nothing to lose
I desperately want to win the Race to Dubai
It’s a great feeling to be number one in the Race to Dubai and I’m hoping to build on that in the coming weeks.
