This year, my wife saw a Tweet from Ruth Reichl (former editor of Gourmet Magazine and The New York Times restaurant critic) that the announcements had been made. She immediately followed the link and was literally jumping for joy when she saw my name in the listing!

It’s glamorous ... You get to eat out at the best restaurants, spend a lot of time with people you love at the table, you have an expense account. But it’s a drag as a young mother, which I was. There’s not much family time, creating meals together.
I didn’t anticipate how taking on other personas would affect me
And I find as I get older, my tastes get simpler and simpler.
We all want the pizza of our childhood ... Or even an espresso. What is simpler? One thing that drives me nuts in places is they let anyone make the espresso.
Foggy fall afternoon ... Cup of lemon tea. Outside the window, a deer is munching on the lawn. About to start the saturday puzzle. Happy.
