We didn't talk about hockey so that was nice ... It didn't work out the last two years. I wanted to play last year [but was a healthy scratch], and I know he wanted to get back from his injury to play against us [Ryan Miller missed the teams' December meeting in Buffalo due to a concussion].
It's embarrassing ... I got family and friends and everybody coming to watch Drew and I play. They watched Drew perform.
He was working out a few weeks ago in Albuquerque, where his brother (Ryan Miller) is an assistant coach for the (University of New Mexico) Lobos and it was bothering him ... He saw a trainer and was told to take a little time off. Then he went back to Miami. It was still bothering him and he had an MRI...
He’s been playing great and he keeps getting better ... He works hard in practice and I thinks that’s why he has the success that he’s having and well deserved and one that he’s worked hard for.
We keep hearing that Buffalo Sabres goalie Ryan Miller is out with a concussion and wouldn’t mind if the Sabres traded him.
I've very proud of him ... I think this is a great situation for him, other than it's close to him. The teams he was with before [Anaheim and Tampa Bay] had him in a limited role, but he's got skills.
I wasn’t trying to hit him at all. Obviously, with the thing with Boston and Buffalo there, [Milan] Lucic [running into Ryan Miller], I’m not trying to hit the goalie. I’m trying to mainly block the shot. The ref [Ryan Murphy] said, ‘You’ve got to avoid everything.’
I can understand why there’s speculation. I went through a tough stretch of hockey
I thought there was one specifically I was going to have to talk about because (coach) Lindy (Ruff) was joking with me yesterday about it
This is what I want to do with my life
I have a long history here. I feel like I’ve grown up here
It’s something you just laugh about
It’s funny when you hear things like ‘wouldn’t mind.’ That implies someone’s asked me
I’ve never, in my time here, talked to Lindy, (general manager) Darcy (Regier), ownership about a trade
Neck has been pretty good, a little tight just wearing the mask again
For me, it's something you just laugh about ... It's something where somebody needs web hits or something for their site or wants to be the person ... if the trade happens two years from now, they broke the story because they threw spaghetti at the wall to see if it would stick. There's no reason for me...
I sat around for about two weeks, but I feel pretty good considering where my heart rate's been ... That's a good sign for me. I can get it high and still feel pretty good. We'll go from today to tomorrow, and see how I feel.
That is not true at all, and I have never made any comment concerning my status with the team
I feel good symptom wise ... It was more neck and something where I aggravated a disc in my neck pretty good and we had an MRI and CT-scan showing that which kind of backed that up and was the source of a lot of the tension and a lot of the discomfort. It definitely was limiting my range of motion.
We’ve had some pretty devastating injuries pile up here ... I think we’ve had good reaction out of the guys coming up and guys filling in different roles. ... It’s good to see new guys coming up can step in, know what’s going on and make contributions.
I definitely felt I took a good impact. I certainly felt that way
I’m just going to take it easy and make sure I have everything feeling good
With Coach Marshall, you get the pro side of it
I've always talked about playing in the NFL ... I think having played both guard and tackle will help. But we've got Utah right now. That's what's on my mind. This is our last dance. I'm going to play lights out.
