All my previous teams, Edmonton, the New York Islanders and Colorado had snow in the winter ... This is going to be different.
It was widely believed the best years of L.A. Kings forward Ryan Smyth, Dallas Stars center Brad Richards, N.Y. Rangers winger Ales Kotalik and Washington Capitals center Brendan Morrison were far behind them...Kotalik, signed as a free agent by the Rangers, was scoring at nearly a point-per-game rate t...
I have been fortunate over the years to play with guys that have great skill ... I played with Dougie Weight and Billy Guerin (in Edmonton) and that was a pretty good line at the time. Having (Ryan Smyth) and Justin Williams, they're helping out a ton. That line, with (Anze) Kopitar, they've jelled so well together and they're helping our power play out a ton. All the younger guys that are getting chances on the power play, we got a little bit of confidence from last year.

It takes a couple of veterans like Ryan Smyth to set the example ... It's only three games in, but you can see some of the stuff he brings. The younger guys are watching and doing the same.
I’ve learned a lot along the way from guys like Kelly Buchberger, Doug Weight, Jason Arnott—the list goes on and on ... When you’re in an older role than a lot of the other guys, you just want to give the a little advice here and there.
