The inequities were pretty huge ... People were spending (Ryan White) money in New York City to do journal writing conferences, and in Mississippi, we couldn't even get people to the clinics.
By extending the Ryan White Care Program and by lifting the ban, Obama has made a lot of people very happy

Ryan White and Greg Louganis shared a common bond. They were living in a time when little was known about HIV and AIDS and there was great fear and discrimination. Their experiences were very painful and public, but they eventually brought about great change and we continue to benefit from that today
