In its 22 years, SXSW has grown from a tiny music festival in the Texas capital into a massive, unavoidable media beast that reflects, discusses and showcases trends in culture and media but also often creates them.

ScreenBurn at SXSW has enjoyed tremendous success since launching in 2006 ... This success reflects the growth of the video game industry, particularly amongst more mainstream audiences. By providing another avenue to bring in up-and-coming developers, we think that the Game Design Competition will help generate even more buzz for ScreenBurn at SXSW.
We were able to create a number of smaller events within this larger event, thus helping to retain the look and feel and the one-on-one interactions that people traditionally like so much about SXSW.
