View Photo »It's the passion of representing India in international cricket that keeps me motivated all the time. It's always a dream to play for my country. I am absolutely honoured to do that for the last 20 years
In that time he was seven years old. The Indian captain, the world’s best cricketer today sir, Sachin Tendulkar, former captain of India, he told him he will play for Sri Lanka one day. I have been told by him, whenever I come after this, ‘Please give me a call and make an appointment and I want to see ...
I'm not particularly happy with the referrals because I'm not convinced of the angles (on television) ... I'm not convinced. I wasn't happy when we first went through it [on India's tour of Sri Lanka last year].
Players like Akram and India’s Sachin Tendulkar have lot of records in their name. When I retire, I would also like to earn a name like them and set records in my name as well.
They are very attentive and listen to what I say very carefully. As a result, they do exactly the way they were taught. There is no ill-feelings, arguments between them. In fact, they understand cricket better than us. They are die-hard fans of Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly and follow Bangladesh c...
If anyone asks me whether India is a country of snake charmers or claims to know about India from Slumdog Millionaire, I will correct their facts and figures. I will stand by my nation and tell them that we have people like A R Rahman, Sachin Tendulkar, Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who al...
I am delighted to learn that Sachin Tendulkar has completed 17,000 runs in the one day international format, here today at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. I congratulate on his effort and wish him many more records in his cricketing career
Iqbalbhai and Kamranbhai stay with me, so whenever they went for selection trials, my father took me along ... Once I had gone for the Mumbai Indians' selections, where I saw Mohammad Ashraful and Sachin Tendulkar talking.
I think he (Dhoni) has no place in the top order. You have Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar at the top and Gautam Gambhir comes next. Yuvraj Singh is at his best at number four and so Dhoni comes after him
We lost Sachin Tendulkar early but Virender Sehwag (40) and Gambhir gave us the start we needed
It was a scatter-bomb. I don’t remember a team losing three bowlers in one day. If Mitchell and Brett can’t play, then we are losing about 300 matches in ODIs in terms of their experience. Having said that, the only way the young players get better is through exposure. You can practice yorkers in the ne...
We have Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar at the top. They score at a brisk rate. But we need batsmen in the middle-order who can score at a high strike-rate. Yuvraj and Rohit are best suited for the role
Obviously Sachin Tendulkar [ Images ] is there. Mahendra Singh Dhoni [ Images ] and some of the new players are also in good form. So, we hope that the India not only wins the second match but the whole series
One should treat J&K players equally. Why can't one look at us the way they look at a Rahul Dravid, or a Sachin Tendulkar or for that matter Baichung Bhutia? We too are sportsmen and have to be respected
Every cricketer has a dream of playing for the country and I have no words to express my feelings. I will wait for the moment when I will be part of the Indian team's dressing room, where cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar would also be present
Recognizing this, and building upon the solid body of work we have done with Sachin Tendulkar, World Sport Group has in India added a second cricketer to its portfolio
Cricket is mainly being played out among three people —Sachin Tendulkar, M.S. Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh. So in that sense Bollywood is definitely more accessible
I think all this depends on the individuals. Some are carried away by the fame and fortune and some are not. Take the example of Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid. They remain as committed as when they started. There are one or two players whom I don't wish to name who have been affected and lost out. T...

It happens that you get big wickets in the big matches. But the best wickets are those which help the team do well in a game. For me, getting Sachin Tendulkar out was a big wicket. His wicket helped my team ... There is pressure when you play for Pakistan as there are so many good fast bowlers.
There are some great players in there ... Sachin Tendulkar is one of the legends of the game, so to be named in that side is pretty humbling for me. It’s a pretty special thing.
We played with a young lot last year and won the Ranji Trophy. We won't have the services of Amol, Sairaj, Sachin, Zaheer and Abhishek and you can't complain of the absence of Zaheer Khan and Sachin Tendulkar. But this is the right time for the young guns to make a mark by performing here
Both teams have their own strengths and weaknesses but definitely having players of the calibre of Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid is a big plus for India. But I think we have the bowling to seriously challenge the Indian batsmen. So the match will start on an even kneel
India has an edge over other teams because of their batting. They have Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid is back. But I believe we have the bowling to beat them this time in an ICC event
That result still hurts. A score of 250 was considered safe, but we were undone by brilliant batting from Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag, backed by Rahul Dravid and Yuvraj Singh
