View Photo »Certainly St. Louis has an interest in Matt ... Matt had a very enjoyable time there.
You talk to (Ankiel) more than you do some guy who's playing, because his playing time has been reduced the last couple of weeks, three weeks ... What I told him, I think, is exactly what he's being told by his representative (Scott Boras). I think Rick has got terrific potential. He needs to --and it's...
They could play Matt Holliday in right field, too
We'll have more fans and more generations who will be able to participate in the World Series ... And that improves our game a great deal. And for corporate sponsorships and economics of the game, I think that would improve as well.
If stem cell research were around, you'd want to tap into that gene pool ... He's 36 years old and he's got a 30-year-old body.
I don't even think that is going to be an issue ... Rick Ankiel is going to go somewhere. There aren't many players who can play center field with his kind of power and his kind of arm strength. ... There are going to be a lot of teams who look at Rick as a substantial trade over what they have.
We are compliant with the NCAA rules by mandate ... We have to go to families and charge them for information that we would otherwise not charge for. And we have to go through the bailiwick of having the parents deal with the teams through our counsel, which is crazy.
The point we made all along is that Jim Leyland is a veteran manager ... He's watched Magglio Ordonez for years. He knows what kind of hitter he is. And I think that Magglio went through a rough time personally. These guys are human beings.
Magglio gives the Detroit Tigers in 2010 a lot of options ... I think he's going to be again having a very clear mind as he approaches 2010. I think Magglio will be the Magglio of old and will be producing like he's been producing since the All-Star break.
