You hate to give him up but we've spent a lot of time and effort and money of getting a nucleus of our young position players. We knew this day was coming that we needed to start getting our hands on some pitching that can truly beat the Red Sox and Yankees in this division, and we think Scott Kazmir has that kind of ability. 
You could see it brewing ... Those guys have some young players that are extremely talented -- guys like Evan Longoria and B.J. Upton playing like veterans, and pitchers like Scott Kazmir, who's been around enough and is going to be a force. I think they turned it around with how they pitched. You can see that their young talent there is a good foundation. They've pitched well and that's why it turned around so quick.
I know Scott Kazmir from coaching him in the Wood Bat National Championship when he was 16 ... And Dan Wheeler, who was on a baseball card with me. He was the youngest and I was the oldest at the time. And so when I went back to FanFest, I said, 'Dude, now you're the old guy.' He was laughing at me, and we had a good chuckle about it.

At any moment he can just catch fire ... If he's throwing the ball over the plate, he's making them swing the bat, I'll be happy. Obviously, if walks start popping up, that's the indicator. ... I'll be probably less tolerant tomorrow than I would have been at any other point.
If we can draw on anything from that, good ... Anything that's happened in your past - you try to turn it into an advantage for you. Saying that, this is a different team, it's a different Tampa team. But, again, we'll use anything we can to give us any kind of advantage.
