View Photo »It just meant those other guys were going to have to pickup the workload ... You saw Darren's snaps go way up. You saw Chris get more snaps. There are a number of things we think Pierre does well for us and you hate to lose a good player like that.
We tip our hat to San Francisco ... It was kind of an unbelievable game, the way it went back and forth. ... We credit San Francisco for making one more play than we did.
It is hard when you get that close then it slips away from you ... We had our opportunities and yet we credit San Francisco for making one more play than us to win a tough game.
Kind of an unbelievable game the way it went back and forth ... It's obviously a difficult game to lose.
They ended up making one more play than we did tonight ... I was proud of how we fought. I was proud of our guys despite some of the early adversary — the turnovers.
We're real encouraged by what we saw
We put a value on turnovers, but you've got to look at what causes turnovers
We came out sharp off the bye ... It wasn't perfect a lot of penalties. But I thought in all three aspects we did a real good job. It's important for us to get to eight (wins). We felt like this was going to be a tough opponent. Thought our players handled the (bye) schedule well.
I thought we ran it well tonight ... We ran it very well. Those are all things that are good allies for a quarterback. We had the balance we're looking for in November and December.
I've said this before about Drew ... He's his own worst critic, and he is as hard on himself as anyone else could possibly be. We're on year six now, and he's throwing the ball with great rhythm and anticipation.
We had the balance we're looking for in November and December ... I thought we ran it well. We ran it very well. Those are all things that are good allies for a quarterback, but he made some fantastic throws.
There's that confidence that players around him have, and obviously we have in him
Our guys came out sharp ... We felt like this was going to be tough opponent coming in with two losses they had prior to our game. ... We had the balance we were looking for. I thought we ran it well tonight.
There’s a confidence we have in that he understands the situation, and he understands the significance
We felt like this was going to be tough opponent coming in with two losses they had prior to our game ... I thought our players handled the schedule well. I was pleased with the win.
Drew understands the situation and when we are sending in the play in it's with the mindset we are going to be smart ... There is a confidence we have that he understands the situation, and he understands the significance.
He made some fantastic throws ... There's a confidence players have around him. He has thrown the ball with good rhythm and balance.
It was a big win for us ... Like any game it wasn't perfect. But I was pleased with the win.
I thought in all three aspects we did a real good job
This discussion we're having is a good one
Clearly that's something they'll look to correct as they come into our game just like we had done the same thing.
The approach we have to take is understanding what we're seeing from a scheme standpoint in the running game and understand that this is a team for good reason who believes strongly in that element to winning football games
Two big allies to the quarterback are good defense and the ability to run the football
They're run numbers aren't really what you might be accustomed to
Their run numbers aren't really what you might be accustomed to
