Sonia Maria Sotomayor ( (help·info) /ˈsoʊnjɑː soʊtoʊmɑˈjɔr/) (born June 25, 1954) is a federal judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. On May 26, 2009, President Barack Obama nominated Judge Sotomayor for appointment to the U.S. Supreme Court to replace retiring Justice David Souter. Full Article
