View Photo »We had a few guys run, coaches included ... If that's the game-winner, hey, let's go throw down. Let's celebrate. But there's no gimmes with that crowd rushing. You have the all-time field-goal block leader in the history of the National Football League on the other side. They got great penetration the ...
This is what the NFL is all about. The best football needs to be played in November and December.
They're exceptional right now ... They're doing what they do best: getting turnovers and running the football. That's a tough combination to beat. They've got one of the top running games and the top back in the league (Chris Johnson, who has rushed for an NFL-best 1,091 yards). I see it as the same tea...
He was a guy that always talks in a positive manner about NASCAR ... A lot of people were negative. He's kind of that voice of reason of getting us back to reality that this is a fan's sport regardless of what us drivers feel some time. I think he's just done a really good job of that.
College atmosphere vs. NBA is a little different ... But it's always good to come back to Carolina and see everybody.
It's tough for rookies because in the NFL you get hit as you're going down ... In college, that doesn't happen much. That's where you lose a lot of the fumbles. He'll learn that. He's going to be a good player, a heck of a player.
NASCAR does a really good job of letting us handle it ... They don't want to get involved. But if it's something blatant, they feel like they have to do something about it or they'll hear repercussions from fans.
He's one of those rare tight ends that can get up and down that field just as fast as a wide receiver ... So he does present match-up problems to a lot of teams, especially when you have linebackers on him. I think he's gotten better since he's been in the NFL.
My impression of Bill Hancock on the Dan Patrick show: Uhh...the BCS is good because...um, this one time…there was this guy for Virginia Tech and he... uh...he was on a jetski and he hurt his ankle, um... at the Orange Bowl, and it was awesome...and... uh.. the NFL doesn't have jet skis...It sounded lik...
He has not practiced enough fullcourt that we're comfortable just throwing him out there ... When he feels like he's in NBA shape, then he'll be back.
I was worried after I watched Detroit and Robert Morris play the opening night. I said, ‘We’d better get (a win against) Alcorn.’ Then you play Detroit the next night and you have a great appreciation for how good they are and how physical they are. That team (Robert Morris) played in the NCAA Tournamen...
I was looking forward to [the start] and I felt comfortable out there ... I know it was a little rocky start, but it's the NFL -- sometimes it does go rocky for a little bit. But I'll be OK and I'll continue to make myself better.
We had a few guys, coaches included ... We had to kick that extra point. There's not a gimme with that crowd rushing -- they have the all-time block leader in the history of the NFL (Shaun Rogers) on the other side. They got great penetration all day. It wasn't automatic. We needed that to win the game.
The NBA's a ship. It's going to keep moving. Teams are not waiting for us ... As the captain, I've got to steer my ship. If I've got to steer it to land until everybody wants to jump on, then I'm going to do it. . . . And we'll see who comes and follows. If nobody wants to follow, then the boat's just g...
I feel like we made a game hard that should have been easy ... but we'll take a win any way we can get it in the NFL.
If Mike Holmgren returns to the NFL in 2010, it will not be as a head coach
Mark Martin is NASCAR's king of close calls.
Jim is no stranger to our success ... It may have been different if we had a whole new coaching staff, and the whole setup had changed. But the formula to success around here hasn't changed, which is why we've won more over the last few years than any team in the NFL.
It shows the young guys there are a lot of different ways to win in the NFL
Four consecutive wins for Jimmie Johnson and Hendrick Motorsports is an incredible feat that the Quaker State team is proud to be a part of ... Quaker State congratulates Jimmie Johnson on the win and is honored to provide his engines with the oil that helped him be the first to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Se...
They’re not the No. 1 scoring defense in the NFL by accident at this stage ... You have to give them some credit. We can execute better and I can do better.
It really doesn't ... If you look back at the history of rankings, there are so many great teams that are overrated in November and maybe sustain injuries or what have you. And I'm sure there are a number of different teams from this field that will be in this year's NCAA tournament that will go on to h...
We will improve a lot by being in Maui ... We start with Wisconsin, a storied program, a program that goes to the NCAA tournament year in, year out. The faces change, the results stay the same.
