At that time Stirlo [Stirling Mortlock] got injured, [Chris] Latham got injured and Elton Flatley suffered his head knock so they told me they needed me. I knew my body wasn't right but I knew the team was struggling. I thought I would just have a bench spot and play a few minutes but I was starting every game. 
Outside of that it's a bit like Stirling [Mortlock's withdrawal], it's not that significant, it's still going to be an epic.
Though the Boks were consistently punishing in defence, the expansive mindset rammed home by coach Robbie Deans paid dividends, with tries to Lote Tuqiri and captain Stirling Mortlock on either side of half-time proving the killer blow.
Jean de Villiers and Frans Steyn are excellent players for the Boks, but not with a proven combination as centres, so if Berrick, Giteau and Stirling Mortlock get it right that's the channel the Wallabies can exploit
Matt Giteau has been there for a while. He knows how things run and Stirling Mortlock is still there and those two players will be keen at continuing the tradition. It's also a good opportunity for Robbie Deans to experiment with a few new players and try out some combinations in preparation for the next World Cup.
But certainly at the moment we'll be licking a few wounds and taking this time to reflect and re-energise so that when we get back into camp on Sunday we're ready to go.
I guess as a group we have proved that we can come back from disappointment so that's one positive thing
