With surfboard blanks getting better, the access to shaping machines and shaping programs, and the retro movement, there's this mashing up of accessibility to blanks and good rockers and new talent and ideas. Everybody can shape and participate in design; it's not the exclusive club like it was.

They spend all their days with girls and waves, and a beer in between ... What else is there to do? They stand on the surfboard, float on the water, return to the beach and constantly fight. They make us awfully proud when they win medals, but it's not a sport.
