It was a bit frustrating at the Point with no waves appearing for the most part, plus winds blasting onshore, but I just decided to have fun and put in some scores ... I'm just really happy to have won this, especially against all these talented surfer gals.
It’s exciting checking out somewhere new each year and seeing how the world’s best surfers adapt to the new waves. Throwing a random stop in the schedule evens the field too, because generally speaking nobody on tour has spent much time at the spots Rip Curl chooses to run these Search events.

Being part of team Hawaii is a huge honor, the support from teammates on the beach really pushes us in the water. It's also a great chance to surf with guys from around the world that I don't see at most contests. I'm already looking forward to surfing in the ISA again next year!
