And it really informed The Beatles’ melodies ... So much of what pop music and popular culture became. I recommend everybody go back and look at those melodies and see where they find them today, because they’re resurfacing and being remixed, basically, into new pop songs.
I like the idea very much of opening in Hamburg as it echoes the opening of my career with The Beatles. I like the idea of going back to a city that I have such fond memories of. This is my chance to bring our current show home to where it all began
The Beatles are known across the world, as are Liverpool and Everton football clubs
we wanted to avoid [The Beatles] at all costs ... Some chord sequences came out and it was like, ‘Oh no, that’s All You Need Is Love , isn’t it? We can’t have that!’ It’s not about The Beatles, it’s very much about an adolescent who is the young John Lennon but doesn’t have that clear musical identity y...
There are Beatle bands that travel with a whole string section and everything, but if you don’t sound like Paul McCartney, if you don’t sound like John Lennon, you don’t sound like The Beatles. You have to have the inflections. And the musicality has to be there.
There was something that happened with The Doors, Jimi Hendrix and The Beatles that brought a [social] consciousness. It took on a whole other kind of passion.

There was a lot of resistance to this show ... I don't know if it's because certain management at PBS felt it maybe was too old, but it was a real challenge to get people to focus on the fact that this is The Beatles, The Doors, the Stones. It's a great relationship [with PBS] but people are generally u...
Introducing The Beatles: England’s No 1 Vocal Group
I worked with George Harrison and he was a musical moron. He didn't understand music at all. He tried to explain what he wanted, and I couldn't understand a word. The only musician was George Martin, he was The Beatles. Paul McCartney boasts that he can't read music. How can a musician boast that he can...
I have been playing music since I was 9 and writing along the way. I met my band about a year ago. Producer David Kahne introduced us and my dad helped. I am currently recording an album. The music was inspired by The Beatles, Nirvana, The Cure, PJ Harvey, Radiohead and all good music.
Monty Python are The Beatles of comedy and the Kids in the Hall are the Duran Duran of comedy
Nothing. I was completely ignorant to it. My concept of Pirate Radio is very different. The music, I think you’ve got to be born in a cellar to not know about the Stones, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Dylan and stuff. But Richard [Curtis] has a weird freakish encyclopedic knowledge of that music and of tha...
My mother was born in Delhi and often she used to tell stories about this great country to me and the other three Beatles (especially during the band's initial days at my mother's club Cashbah). And I think this is one reason that prompted The Beatles to visit India in early 1968
I grew up with The Beatles and The Monkeys, people like Neil Young, CSN and Y, Simon and Garfunkel ... I always loved music.
The Beatles and their heirs have refused to make their songs available on the Apple iPod or other devices.
Unfortunately, guys, the audience are speaking, and as for your comment, Louis, about this being a silly song - it's one of The Beatles' biggest hits! I honestly think where all of you have been quite mean tonight is he put on a great show. It's called entertainment, and Olly, you are fantastic.
The Beatles, the Stones, the Animals, the Yardbirds, in fact, almost every major English rock band of the era was influenced by Mississippi blues musicians. The circle keeps turning as these great current Mississippi artists cover the British tunes of the ‘60s.
The Beatles have always been a great source of inspiration for me
Mohd. Rafi, Michael Stipe of REM, Kishore Kumar, and The Beatles all have inspired me ever since I could sing my first note
I saw The Beatles on top of Melbourne Town Hall and a million people below
But I want to raise the bar, and that's the big challenge ... Who are the players? What kind of record is it? Do I go to Abbey Road studios [in England, where The Beatles recorded]? Do I stay here in Nashville? I'm just sort of trying to put myself in the best creative climate, whether that's a city or ...
When we travel now, it's a little different, when we pull up to the hotel and there are hundreds and hundreds of people waiting, I'm not going to say it's like The Beatles, but it's different ... You feel that excitement level where ever we go.
