That's why they're one of the best teams in the league ... Even without Dirk they've got All-Stars like Josh Howard and Jason Kidd and Jason Terry. Tim Thomas played great tonight. Guys stepped up.
I guess this season just wasn't meant to be for me ... But I believe everything happens for a reason. I've been working out as much as I can, but as of now, I've got to be here for my wife and kids. I miss being with the guys, but some things are more important. I hope they can win a championship and I ...
That's why they're one of the best teams in the West, one of the best teams in the league ... They've got guys even without Dirk that are All-Stars on their team – Josh Howard and J-Kidd and Jason Terry, and the rest of those guys. Tim Thomas played great tonight. Guys stepped up.
Right now, my wife has to be my priority
That's why they're one of the best teams in the West, one of the best teams in the league ... They've got guys even without Dirk that are All Stars on their team. Josh Howard and J- Kidd and Jason Terry, and the rest of those guys, Tim Thomas played great tonight. Guys stepped up.
I had to give up doing something I love to take care of someone I love
It's all about confidence and taking good shots
I told the kids it was a good time to work on our defense
This team hasn't been up like that much at halftime ... As a coach you can tell them and tell them . . . but we started out the half turning it over. We lost our focus.
What's really great about it is that we tell the kids, 'Hard work pays off,' ... We keep telling them that we can compete with the teams in our district and that they can accomplish a lot with a great attitude and great work ethic. When it comes together like this, it really validates all the hard work ...
It's poetic justice, so to speak ... They were relentless on the boards and we didn't battle like we should have.
To win a hard-fought battle against a tradition-rich team and to win in that way, it's exciting ... The guys dug down deep and were able to pull it off.
It could have been deflating ... I told the guys, 'You played well enough to win the game. Now you have to play these next 4 minutes well enough to win.
You're trying to put yourself in position to win and then you have to step up and make the plays ... Their players made the plays and ours didn't.
When you're on the road ... you've got to close and finish. You've got to make the plays.
He kept finding those holes and finding those lanes to get the puck through
He's ironically come back well-rested. That can kind of give you a comparison ... We made a point of not making (fatigue) an excuse before we came into this game, but the reality of it is, to a certain extent it does catch up with you.
Dirk and I pretty much have the same mindset ... It doesn't matter how many shots you miss, you just keep firing. That's one thing I love about Dirk. In the past, playing against him, when he got aggressive he was always very effective. I'm just trying to adopt that same mindset. It doesn't matter how m...
It's tough. This is really my first time going through it
I always say the NBA is a game of checkers and chess ... Guys make moves to better their team, and in my instance I wanted to get moved out of places. Being older, you don't like to be in situations where you're dealing with organizations that are rebuilding. This is a veteran team that's trying to win ...
We just didn't shoot the ball well ... We had some chip shots and some layups that we missed, some wide-open jump shots that we missed. Tonight, we didn't score points.
There's no substitute for experience ... A lot of these guys are doing things for the first time. It's like riding a bike - you may fall down several times before you know how to do it.
If you're going to finish, you've got to take care of the ball, make your free throws and rebound
This team has learned how to start and they've learned how to stay in the race ... They really haven't learned how to finish on the road. This team has to learn how to finish.
