Some of that stuff is overrated ... I know coach Lovie (Smith) and he is very well prepared. He probably has a pretty good feel for Kyle and his strengths and weaknesses and now Tyler has played a couple games, you know, he’s on tape and a little easier to gameplan that way. I don’t think there is a gre...

There are many culprits to consider when talking about the Kansas City Chiefs’ failure to repeat as AFC West Champions. While injuries may be at the top of most lists, special teams is at the top of mine. Looking back on the season, it is truly remarkabl

We as much as anything else (want to) give Kyle an opportunity to get acclimated into the offense and the only way to do that is to get legitimate reps ... In the end, the guy that we feel gives us the best chance to win will always play.

View Photo »We’re planning on playing good football
We’ve got to get Kyle assimilated into how we’re doing things
We understand the sense of urgency that we must have, and we understand that our margin of error is very small at this point
I wouldn't rule out anything at this point, other than Tyler is starting the game Sunday ... We'll just have to see.
I have great confidence in Tyler. I really believe that he will continue to get better and give us a chance to win a big game this week ... We had confidence in Tyler. That's why we began the season the way we did. Had a number of opportunities to add people and we didn't.
He never had a look that disturbed me before, after, during the game ... I know playing that position, there’s no greater test, and getting thrown into the fire on Monday night and, oh, by the way, six days later playing Pittsburgh. It doesn’t get any harder.
We have consistently communicated that we are always looking to create competition and depth within our team ... We feel adding Kyle to our roster reinforces that goal and we look forward to having him as a member of the Chiefs.
I don't know ... I would say Tyler's the starter and Kyle, like I said, will come in....we are ahead of the game in trying to get him up to speed offensively, terminology, and all those things. I wouldn't think he'd be terribly in a bad position to have a chance to be out there but like I said it would ...
The situation that we are in and the one we were in yesterday when we made the final decision to go this direction was I think it was just a smart football decision for us, taking money and those things out of the equation
I don't think it's a way of saying it ... I think that it's where we are. We are as an organization, as a coaching staff and as team trying to be in this thing until the end and beyond.
The more of those types of guys you have
It was kind of a no-brainer for us with the situation we were in, first and foremost from a depth standpoint ... Once the decision was made that Matt (Cassel) was going to be lost for the season, there was no other option as far as we could see.
Pittsburgh, much like Kansas City, it’s a blue-collar town and has survived hard times; has shown resiliency to have survived hard times
The game was disappointing ... The guys were let down. We went up there fully expecting to play our best and win the game, and get further back into this race, and it didn't happen.
It's not a lot ... It's just been little things that make a big difference.
Either way, it wouldn’t have an effect on what I feel about Tyler and I think what our team feels about Tyler
I wanted to wait longer to have to see Tom Brady
We are in the mode of doing whatever we need to do to try and win games and stay in this race ... because we still are in it. We're by no means out of it if we start playing consistently good football down the stretch. Right now, we haven't done that the last three weeks.
We're continuing to work on that subject
We have to continue to try to do everything possible to clean up the mistakes that ultimately cost us ... It's not a lot, but it's little things that are making a big difference.
There's been a bunch of discussions
The game last night was disappointing ... The guys were let down. We went up there fully expecting to play our best and win the game, and get further back into this race, and it didn't happen.
