Tyler is our starter ... We got to get Kyle ready to play. He might have to play, and he might not. That's the situation, right now, as we speak.
Tyler's our starter. We're getting Kyle ready to play ... He's not like a guy who's been here a couple of years. It's a different situation. So we're getting him ready to play.
Some of that stuff is overrated ... I know coach Lovie (Smith) and he is very well prepared. He probably has a pretty good feel for Kyle and his strengths and weaknesses and now Tyler has played a couple games, you know, he’s on tape and a little easier to gameplan that way. I don’t think there is a gre...
We as much as anything else (want to) give Kyle an opportunity to get acclimated into the offense and the only way to do that is to get legitimate reps ... In the end, the guy that we feel gives us the best chance to win will always play.
I thought overall he was definitely a bright spot ... I thought he played as good as anybody up front and that’s going against a pretty difficult front seven.
We’re getting some big-time plays from a couple of those young guys, specifically Justin and Allen Bailey
Tyler's the starter ... but as we do every week and with every position, if we feel Kyle or Ricky (Stanzi) gives us a chance to win, we'll make that determination.
I don’t think that’s an issue, really. When you talk about Kyle, you talk about a really bright football guy ... That won’t be an issue. More along the lines of who can run the offense most efficiently given how we’re built.
Tyler knows he cannot be careless with the football ... That being said, throughout the game, a lot of the things Tyler did gave us a chance to win that game.
We are in this race even though it may not appear so ... If we can play a little better but do a lot of the things that we've been doing the last couple weeks against a copule of really good opponents, if we can do the things we've been doing and just eliminate some of the things that hurt us in additio...
He’s a bright kid we’re all excited about
I would venture to say we’d as much as anything else get Kyle an opportunity to get acclimated into the offense, and the only way to do that is to get legitimate (snaps)
I have no doubt or second thoughts (that Palko) gave us the best chance to win, and a rookie going in against that defense and some of the looks we were seeing and some of the aspects we were going to have to handle were going to be a difficult task
Right now, there was a clear-cut reason for the acquisition of Kyle
The fumbled snap was a killer
He'll have a much better chance this week to compete ... and like I said, Tyler is the starter, but whatever position we say, if someone gives us a better chance to win, that's the guideline we generally follow.
Can you explain the thinking behind kicking a field goal on 4th-and-2 from the Pittsburgh 22 with seven minutes left in the game, when a field goal still required you to score a touchdown on your next possession? If there was no thinking, just grunt.

At times he did a lot of good things
Our guys gave it everything they had ... They stuck together. They didn't get down. We kept playing hard, sticking to the game plan and in the end we had a chance there moving the ball across the 50 to potentially win the game. In the end we had a chance there, moving the ball across the 50 and into their territory ... When you turn the ball over four times you generally don't have a chance in the end.
Right now, he has his hands full
It’s hard to progress when your top guys go down ... Obviously, very few people have backups who can play as well as the starters. If he can get some of those guys back, then it’s a matter of hitting on all cylinders, catching a few breaks and winning some games you shouldn’t win.
You must go on ... They aren’t going to cancel the game. So you have to be ready. We had been moving in the right direction, and we felt really good about where we were going. Then we lose a couple of core guys that you are kind of shaping your team around. That’s a jolt and a shock to reality.
