The first (and second) time we played San Diego ... we had a shot. At the start of the fourth quarter against Denver (and) Houston, (and then last week against KC), same thing; we had a shot. So we've had our share of that. But that's what the good teams do, they push you and they get through those game...

Three teams that fired their offensive coordinators right before the season -- the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs -- rank 28th, 29th and 30th in total offense. Only the Cleveland Browns and Oakland Raiders are worse. . . . Isn’t it ironic that the NFL’s most punchless team --...

Tom Cable's history of violence against women raises a question: why is he still the head coach of an NFL team? Mr. Cable admits having battered his first wife, and he stands accused of battering two other intimate partners as well
If he remains the starter, he's got to understand the responsibility that comes with that position ... You can't go out time and time again and consistently be that inaccurate, not have command like you need to in this league. That's a very critical position in the National Football League. It has to be...
I thought I had a very good relationship with Tom Cable. I think he is a great coach ... It's unbelievable the way he teaches offensive line. We use a lot of his technique stuff and drill here, and it's helped us improve the running game here. He is a great technician as an offensive line coach.

When will (Raiders coach) Tom Cable and (owner) Al Davis recognize (Russell) is not ready to be a big time quarterback in this league? It’s my feeling that both owe it to the other 52 players on the roster to make a change.
We came out of the San Diego game, as I mentioned out of the game yesterday, feeling better about our return game, both of them ... I don’t think either guy brought much to the table yesterday.
It is most unfortunate that ESPN has given Ms. Lutz this forum to revisit this incident when I did nothing wrong and further chose not to provide me with an appropriate opportunity to respond.
I guess he expects me to do well. I have to go out there and do my job, just like everyone else has to go out there and do their job ... I think if we have a good week of practice and prepare, we know what Kansas City does, we play them twice a year, we’ll go out there and play well.
If you remember when they all kind of went bang, bang, bang and it started with Chaz, losing him in the preseason. In the preseason game against Dallas, I think we scored 31 points with him in the lineup ... Now, I’m not saying that we’re going to score 31 points every time but it gives us a guy who has...
It’s where they’re at this coming Monday, as we start the bye ... Cause you really look at it as a two-week process for them to play. If it goes through the bye and we’re on that Monday of Kansas City, then I think that’s a real question. I’m not sure they would be ready at that point. But if they’ve go...
As Philadelphia wanted to throw it first and run it second, the Jets will be just the opposite
He was great. He really was ... He’s bringing his game to the level that we hoped he would when we traded for him (from Miami). But the thing I’m excited for him is he is starting to get command of the system. I think the center has to be like the quarterback in many ways, and there is some stuff on tap...
They'll pressure you from everywhere. It reminds you a little bit of Baltimore ... With Mike Nolan being there, you'd expect some of that. Anyone on the field can come after you, whether it's a corner or safety or any of the backers. They have a renewed attitude and it shows.
I think the three teams, speaking about Oakland, Denver and Kansas City all have improved in areas ... We all would like to improve more certainly and San Diego obviously is a very talented football team.

To come here on the road and know what you are getting into with the crowd, the noise and the pressures, I did not think we handled it very well ... It was a huge step the Oakland Raiders took today, having a chance to do something at the end of the game. We were behind and we haven’t been able to do th...
It’s as poor as you can play offensively and still find a way to win a football game ... All of a sudden, JaMarcus Russell is in total control, he’s on time, got some decent protection, the guys ran good routes, caught passes. …We won the football game; that’s what matters here.
I am very excited at what this team has come to ... I'm very excited as to where we're headed. We have to let this one go. It's tough. This is the NFL. It's a tough lesson, but a valuable one.
I saw a real nervous, uptight young man, a lot of big eyes ... We'll expect him to be better (Sunday at Kansas City). It should be extremely loud. He has to learn how to handle it.
