He gets his way of staying in the sport a lot longer than him just being able to retire and step out ... He'll have a team that he can have ownership of when he's old and in his 70's and 80's and still being Tony Stewart. The fun part about all of that is that he gets to enjoy what he loves to do most, and that's racing. And he's still going to be a part of Sprint Cup racing for a long time. 
Where There's Smoke…NASCAR superstar Tony Stewart brawls, cusses, eats way too many doughnuts and (usually) drives a race car better than anyone on earth. How did a potbellied prima donna become the soul of auto racing?
I certainly think it was a real threat before Tony Stewart [the club's new owner] came on the scene and put forward a proposal that the administrator could accept ... Before he came along we were very close to not having any funds. In May there wasn't the money to keep the club running at its full operational level. We were on the brink.
It was a fun day ... I never thought it would be such a big deal, but it has been. It's not like I'll never these guys again, but I know this is the last time I'm going to work with this particular group of guys.
