After I changed from short to long distance racing, taking the win in Kona became my big dream. It’s where the Ironman myth was born and where it all started. Kona is my Tour de France. Having finished fourth last year, I know that it is within my reach to win the race one day.
It's fantastic, it's a buzz. It's the best event in the whole wide world ... It's better than the Tour de France.
I could bring nothing to the inquiry. It upsets me because people are going to associate me with this. They are going to talk about this more than my 15th place in the Tour de France(this year).

My main goal for the coming year is certainly the Tour de France
I want to be world champion and I want to win stages of the Tour de France.

I was questioned because I was a rider on the team in 2008. I couldn't bring anything to the inquiry ... It makes me angry because I'm going to be associated with this. It's going to be spoken about more than my 15th place at the Tour de France.
You have no idea what the Tour de France is.
It’s not ideal but I’m a professional cyclist whose job is to ride in the Tour de France ... All my Olympic rivals will also be in the Tour, so I’m not at a disadvantage. If I didn’t think I could win both, I wouldn’t attempt it.
Cadel not only performed extremely well to become the first ever Australian to win the Tour de France but the way he has conducted himself since has had a positive impact in the promotion of Victorian sport and cycling
I feel it should be a part of the Olympics one day ... To me, it is just as legit as the Tour de France stuff. We are athletes. We push each other. We hit the wall just the same. We just do it on a board.
We made the whole schedule until the Tour de France, so it’s not fixed in my plans ... For sure I want to go there, it’s a dream for everybody, but if it doesn’t happen it’s not bad. The world goes not down.
Our aim is to create an event that takes riders as close to the professionals’ experience as possible, in a safe and fun environment. This year’s event was a huge success with many commenting on the Tour de France feel. We’re incredibly excited about getting to the start line next year.
When I still milled around on the courts with my racket, we weren't far from our Spanish friends. Same on the soccer fields, the basketball halls or on the roads of the Tour de France. An instructor might say, ‘Today we’re going to do stage 15 of the Tour de France,’ ... It’s supposed to be like they’re training on their bike [outside].
Top 10 in the Tour is a bit different; the race is like 21 world championships all together and then the 10 guys that are best at the end of that are pretty much like 10 individual winners of other grand tours ... You see how easy it would be to lose that position because there are so many guys breathin...
He is the current Norwegian national time trial champion for the fifth year running and a two-time Tour de France stage winner. He is fiercely competitive, young and hungry for a win.
