I’m excited to defend my Vans Triple Crown title ... After losing Haleiwa in the Quarterfinals, I thought I’d have to win Sunset and my focus wasn’t 100 percent on the Triple Crown anymore, it was more on Pipe, but now that I’ve won Sunset I’d love to win the Vans Triple Crown again.

I came to Hawaii and I was just using Haleiwa and Sunset as a warm-up to get into that flow and routine going into Pipe and I kind of got that out of it, plus being ahead in the Triple Crown, so that’s a bonus.
