View Photo »Afridi is my Twenty20 captain and there is a Twenty20 World Cup not so long from now in the West Indies
The fact is that when we won the T20 World Cup the whole nation including the government feted us. So if anyone is disappointed with our performance in the Champions Trophy they can ask the reasons for it from us
It is a good opportunity for me to play in the foreign leagues that will enhance my game before the next T20 World Cup in the West Indies
If you look at Pakistan, it has improved gradually under Younus. We won the Twenty20 World Cup in England and reached the Champions Trophy semifinal - those are not bad results
After winning the Twenty20 World Cup in England this year, we are now in the semi-finals here. We need two more good days
We need two more good days. If it happens, it will be very nice for me and it will be fantastic for Pakistan. We need a couple of titles because cricket is the only game in Pakistan that brings the people together. It is time we give them one more gift following our Twenty20 World Cup triumph.
With the arrival of Ajmal, our spin is very strong. That is the main reason why we won the World T20 in England and why we are favourites here.
Grant took part in training this morning and had an injection ... It works when he bats but not when he bowls. We'll leave it till the last possible minute before making a decision. It's frustrating but we're used to it. We've been through it before with New Zealand, even in the Twenty20 World Cup. It b...
It's nothing because sometimes you win all the games in the first stage and then suddenly you lose a big game. So it's good for us, not like some other teams, like South Africa and Sri Lanka in the last World T20, who won all their games and then lost the big games.
This is the main reason why our team has reached the semi-final here and also won the Twenty20 World Championships in England this year.
If you look at the results, top teams like India and South Africa are out of the Champions Trophy semi-finals. It just shows that the rankings are not error-free. The results of the Twenty20 World Cup in England were also against the rankings
The highlight for us was coming home from the one-day World Cup with the trophy and then playing really well in the ICC World Twenty20 at home in England
It just shows that the rankings are not error-free ... the results of the Twenty20 World Cup in England were also against the rankings.
The schedule means we'll have five Twenty20 matches against strong opposition, heading into the ICC World Twenty20 competition in the West Indies in May
I am not thinking of how our performance will help India. But I do wish India and Pakistan play the final. In World T20 it was great to play India and we wish it happens again
the papers to host this tournament was prepared and submitted to the ICC by the BCB. The papers were scrutinised by the ICC in April 2006 and it was decided by the ICC board members that the 2014 ICC WT20 would be held in Bangladesh
We've got the World Twenty20 (in the West Indies in 2010) and the World Cup (in the sub-continent) in 2011, and that's got to be our goal - to play better and perform better in these tournaments
Our fast bowlers were very good ... I have a lot of time for both. Umar Gul is very committed and did wonders in England. And young Aamer is a very talented player. When we took him to England and we played him straight away in the World Twenty20, you can imagine he bowled the last over against South Af...
I think Dhoni and his men stand a great chance to win the tournament. I feel they are a more balanced unit when compared to other sides. Even against Pakistan, I consider India to be the favourites. It’s true Pakistan won the World T20 but since then, they haven’t been successful in many matches. Wherea...
After winning the Twenty20 World Cup (in England) this year, there are a lot of expectations from us. We are very keen to win this competition. We want to play well and hard and we are very focused on this competition.
They lost the crunch game in the semi-final (against Pakistan) after looking unbeatable throughout the ICC World Twenty20.
Pakistan made the ICC World Twenty20 more watchable
I don't see any long-term plan behind that. It's because India were knocked out of the Twenty20 World Cup, and the way they were knocked out, that prompted Dravid's recall. Our frontline batsmen got exposed in the tournament and that's how Dravid came into it. I think it was a backward step
It might be convenient to drop Raina down to no. 6 but it won't do his confidence any good ... Bringing Dravid back was probably a reaction to the way we were knocked out of the T20 World Cup and the manner in which some of the young batsmen were exposed. But I don't think there's a long-term plan for D...
I do not think it’s a long term idea (to bring in Dravid). It could be because India was knocked out in the World T20. He may be there for a year or two. However, protecting a batsman in the 50-over game is not good. It’s not good for Suresh Raina’s confidence
